CHOMP Launches a New Pet Category!

We’re excited to share that we have expanded our services into the pet sector, through a collaboration with one of the city’s largest pet retailers - Whiskers N Paws. Two Whiskers N Paws retail locations in Ap Lei Chau and Lohas Park, will now be available via the CHOMP app. When pet-food, treats, supplements or other perishable items (such as pet shampoos) are nearing their Best Before Date, these items will be made available for sale via the CHOMP app at a 50% discount off the regular price. The aim of the partnership is to help reduce the amount of perfectly edible and usable items from ending up in landfill.

CHOMP launched in 2021 and is primarily known as a food-saving app – the majority of our 250 vendors are from the F&B sector and include cafes, restaurants, bakeries and stores, such as The Optimist, The Astor, Levain Bakery, and TreeHouse to name a few. However, over the past four years, we have seen opportunities to expand our waste saving mission into homewares and we’ve already partnered with other types of businesses that sell perishable goods outside of food, such as flowers and skincare. The partnership with Whiskers N Paws has led to us adding a new Pet category to the app.
